Local 441 Members,
Friday will be a normal picketing day. AM shift captains should reply if you don”t have your supplies.
It looks as if Tuesday will be a full picketing again. I will be around the sites tomorrow with extra sign in sheets.
David, Karen and Mike are doing the good will wagon tours again.
That is all I have for now on the plans.
Even though I am thrilled we were able to secure no net loss of pay for CUPE members during the the BCTF job action I am fully aware that that doesn’t help us pay cheque to pay cheque. I am exploring every possible avenue I can think of for that will benefit you and your families.
Those that have loan and mortgage payments should talk with your banks, often they will differ payments in times of job action, particularly if there is a grant payment that will catch you up in a short turn around time.
I have been asked many times today about what happens if someone crosses the picket line. As I said earlier I hope I don’t have to research what I need to do. If you are thinking of crossing please hold off for Friday and come to the Saturday meeting at Claremont where will will have a discussion regarding our defense fund. I make no promises as the decision is the memberships to make however I may have some options that are appealing to the membership.
