The following important message is for non-custodial members with a temporary status regarding benefits continuation.
Usually temp employees must work 20 hours in September to maintain their benefits package. As a result of the teachers job action and part of our recently ratified collective agreement the 20 hours will be pro-rated with the amout of days call outs are available this September. In order to maintain our benefits package you MUST work a minimum of 6.5 hours between September 22nd and Sept 30th. Failing to do so will result in loss of benefits and having to re-serve the 630 hour qualification period in order to re-gain our benefits package.
Please contact me by Sept 29th if you are in danger of not working the required 6.5 hours.
Cusodial members who worked during July and August should not have to worry about this issue.
