We have recently withdrawn from the K-12 Presidents Council and Vancouver Island District Council. The motion at the last general meeting was in response to the provincial framework agreement negotiations and how the K-12 council didn’t reflect our needs effectively. Despite withdrawal, the framework agreement is still going to be the basis of our local negotiations and what will be provided to the membership for ratification. This action simply provides us with a better platform in finding an alternate method of negotiating for future rounds of bargaining.
I encourage everyone to get involved in the local conversations by attending our general meetings. I ask that everyone comes with an open mind and with a positive attitude. In order to vote on issues you will need to attend the general meetings. See you this Saturday!
