I want everybody who left to come back to our district. I miss learning new things and I miss my friends!

As an EA in Saanich District #63 I am concerned that students are not getting enough support. If I am sick, there is no one to support the students that day as there are not enough on-call EA’s that can do my job. I work with senior academic students that need support to complete their grade 12. Also, it is important that the students I work with know that there is someone there to support them. I believe that wage parity will bring new employees to our district which will give our students the support that they deserve. I love what I do and want to feel like I make a difference.

I love my job but I definitely feel like the system is broken right now and kids aren’t getting the support they deserve. That makes me sad. There just aren’t enough Education Assistants to be in every class that needs them.
